·         Avathar Charitable Trust Established in the month of October 2014 at Miryalaguda Town and Mandal, Nalgonda District, T.S., its registered No.32/2014.  The trust primarily smaller trust and its aim to focuses on the health and education of women and children. 

 

·         “Save the Children is often told that its aims are impossible-that there has always been child suffering and there always will be.  We know, it’s impossible only if we make it so.  It’s impossible only if we refuse to attempt it.”

 

·         As a global organization, our size and flexibility mean we’re uniquely placed to work as a catalyst for change for children.

 

·         From our work with children and their communities on the ground to our research, advocacy, campaigning and communications, we will generate effective solutions to the problems children face.

 

·         We will persuade Governments to implement them, and donors to support them, so that they become the norm.  we will integrate these strands of work more closely than ever before.  We’ll give children a voice.

·         We are determined to build a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation. 

 

·         We not only save children from the hardships of life, but we also work towards abolishing these hardships. 

 

·         Child Survival

Nearly 1.73 million children die in India every year due to lack of treatment.  We work with communities and the Government health systems to improve child and maternal health care. 

·         Child Protection

India has the largest number of child labourers in the world, we work to expose and prevent exploitative child labour practices. 

 

·         7.1 Million Children in India do not go to school.  We work to ensure that all children join school.  This helps them stay out of child labour as well as in building a promising future for themselves. 

 

·         Responding to Emergencies and Disaster Risk Reduction.

 

·         Children are the worst affected victims of natural disasters.  We work to ensure their right to survival and development after an emergency by providing immediate support.

 

·         We also train children to resist critical situations during natural disasters.

 

·         Here are some statistics that remind us of the challenges in the Indian healthcare domain:

 

·         Over 30% people in rural India and 20% in urban India don’t seek treatment for lack of financial resources.

 

·         Every year nearly 39 million people in India are pushed into poverty because of ill-health. 

 

·         The common man spends 72% of out-of-pocket expenditure on drugs.

 

·         India’s current public spending on health at 0.94% in such a scenario, our trust going to take through its direct intervention programs at primary healthcare level and through sustain lobbying & advocacy on health policy with State & National Governments,  it has been able to effect positive changes in the communities it serves. 

 

·         The trust aim to empower individuals, families and communities with essential knowledge that help them lead fuller, healthier lives.  The uniqueness of the project lies in its community-oriented focus that integrates preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative efforts through a democratic, cultural and participatory approach.   

 

·         Civil society, Governance and human rights.  This portfolio is dedicated to the protection of human rights as guaranteed under the Indian Constitution, strengthening civil society and the promotion of transparent and participatory Governance at the grassroots. 

 

·         Media, art and culture.  This portfolio extends support to art and culture projects in rural and urban areas.  It lays special emphasis on promoting arts scholarships and building archival facilities; protecting and conserving India’s cultural heritage and dying art forms; supporting research and development activities of the arts, supporting development media projects as well as developing proactive areas through folklore. 

 

·         The trusts also provides financial succor for relief and rehabilitation to alleviate distress and suffering caused by natural and man-made disasters.  In the event of large-scale calamities.

 

·         Medical: Financial help is extended to individuals for the treatment of diseases and to treat other health problems.

 

·         Education: The trusts’ annual scholarship programmes offer scholarships for higher education in India and abroad, travel grants for studies abroad, and for attending conferences and sports activities.
